5. Shri Hemkunt Sahib

This is a renowned Sikh pilgrimace site which stands at a height of over 15,000 feet above the sea level. It is thronged by thousands of devotees from the world in each summer. Gobind Singh, it is believed, meditated at this place in his previous birth. A beautiful gurudwara is situated here. It forms the epitome of all principles which strengthen the Sikh faith. Situated in Chamoli district, it is surrounded by seven mountain peaks and there are waterfalls, streams etc. around this place.

Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib opens on May 25th and closes on October 10th.
