Jamshedpur, often called as an industrial city, has recently garnered the attention of tourists. 1. Jubilee Park
If you want to see the beauty of this park, you should visit it on March 3, which is celebrated as the Founders’ Day. This park was gifted to the citizens of Jamshedpur by Tata Steel when the city completed 50 years of its foundation. What gives it a distinguished identity is the beautiful display of lights on March 3 which makes it look all the more pretty. It is spread over a wide area of 225 acres and has amazingly beautiful flowerbeds in its gardens.
There are colorful fountains and Foliage Park, Nicco Park and the recreational center in the park. Kids can enjoy thrilling rides. However, it’s on the birth anniversary of Shri Jamshedji Tata, the founder of the city, when this park is decorated with bright lights and other beautiful items. The park looks stunning on this day.
2. Dimna Lake
Serving as a win win deal for the localities here, this lake is the source of drinking water as well as the hub for water sports activities, like jet skiing, rowing and water scooting which will definitely give an adrenaline rush to the tourists. Dina Lake is situated at a stretch of 13 kilometers from the city at the base of Dalma hills.
3. Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary
If you want to view the dense fauna around the Dalma Mountain Range, then you should visit the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary. You can locate all the species of the jungle here like leopard, elephants, tigers, deer, porcupines, sloth beer etc. The sanctuary has a big number of elephants around as there is plenty of water available even in summers. There is a guest house owned by Tata Steel and Forest Department on top of the mountain hill and a Shiva temple is also situated at the hill top which is thronged by a big number of Shiva devotees during Shrawan month and Shivratri as well. The trees which can be found in abundance here are Jamun, Terminalia, etc.
4. Tata Steel Zoological Park
Tata Zoo was opened for visitors on March 3, 1994 on the foundation day of Tata Steel. Spread over an area of 37 hectares, it has manicured gardens and wooded zones.
Tata Steel Zoological Park was created in Jamshedpur with a view to ensure recreation, research, education and conservation. It also provides ground for captive breeding of birds, animals, reptiles, aquatic animals etc.
It provides natural environment for all species where they can live in simulated conditions of natural surroundings.
5. Rankini Mandir
Situated in Jadugora which is located in Potka block, the temple is an ancient one which has presence of Lord Hanuman also.
It also houses a big Ram temple.
The temples are surrounded by local bazaar where people can enjoy shopping.
6. Sir Dorabji Tata Park
Situated near the famous Keenan Stadium, this park woos a lot many tourists with its fresh green atmosphere. The evenings are beautiful with cool air flowing across the park.
There is an aroma of freshness in and around this park due to the presence of beautiful colored flowers and many fountains which can be seen under colorful lights.
The park is dedicated to public in the fond memory of Sir Dorabji. There is a famous annual flower show organized every year in December when the ambience in and around the park is cool and calm. The USP of this park are artificial fountains which illuminate with different colors.
7. Rivers Meet
If you want to see the convergence of two beautiful rivers at one point, then you should definitely visit the Rivers Meet point. Two rivers, namely, Khakai and Subarnarekha meet at this point.
There are lush green fields around and tall eucalyptus trees surrounding this town. It remains open seven days a week from 7 am to 7 pm. The weekends can be well-spent with family here.
8. Bhuvaneshwari Temple
If you are an ardent follower of Maa Shakti, then this is the right place for you. You can offer your prayers at Mata Bhuvaneshwari Peeth in Jamshedpur. It is an important Shakti Shrine dedicated to Maa Bhuvaneshwari. It was founded by Swami Ranga Rajan Maharaj in 1978 on January 26.
The Temple is constructed with South Indian architecture. The main hall of the temple has eight pillars.
9. Russi Modi Centre of Excellence
The priceless gems of Tata Empire are stored here. It is one of the greatest exhibit of the Tatas. The Centre has a rare and excellent collection of arts. The visitors can glance at this collection on Tuesdays and Saturdays when the park remains open. Some of the precious assets stored here are the letters which JN Tata had written to Swami Vivekananda in 1893 after their meeting in the same ship in the same year. It also houses the appeal made by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose as the president of Tata Iron and Steel Company. The first share of Tata Iron and Steel company certificate issued in the year 1907 is also preserved here.
10. Jubilee Lake
If you want to sit quietly to feel the nature, then this can be the right place for you. You can sit and watch birds sitting quietly even for long hours here. In Monsoon, the lake water flows into River Subarnarekha. Similarly, in winters, a lot many migratory birds visit here.
11. Keenan Stadium
If you are a sports freak; you should once visit the Keenan Stadium which is a multi-purpose stadium. It is also credited as an International Cricket Stadium in Jamshedpur. Mostly it has been used for cricket and football matches. Also, it’s known as an archery venue. It has been named after the former General Manager of Tata Steel, John Lawrence Keenan and has a capacity of hosting a 19000 strong audience.
12. Hudco Lake
If you want to sit in the lap of nature and spend some time, then this is the best place. It has a beautiful park, a picnic spot housing an artificial waterfall as well as a pristine lake. Green hills surround this lake. It is an ideal venue for boating.
13. JRD TATA Sports Complex
The complex houses all kinds of sports facilities such as swimming pool, conference area, state of the art gym, natural grass along with many athletics facilities. Many chess & adventure sports facilities can also be seen here. Archery academy is one of the best here.

15. Amadubi Rural Tourism Centre
It’s an art village, situated at Amadubi in Dalbhumgarh, which exists at a stretch of about 65 km from Jamshedpur. It was launched on World Tourism day on Sept 27, 2013.
Developed jointly by the Jharkhand Tourism department, Village Tourism Development Committee (VTDC) with NGO Kalamandi-The Celluloid Chapter Art Foundation, it raises job opportunity for rural people.
